Dear Partners,

All of you should have received the August statements. Our fund 1 was up by 47.43% (before fees) in the month of August. All of you who are seeking monthly distributions must have received them as well. If you have not received it, please let me know. Several news sites have reported that China started cracking down on cryptocurrencies again, and crypto markets simply yawned and ignored it.

1. This week SEC launched a new website called, www.investor.gov. From the launch of this new site, SEC chairman Gary Gensler gave advice to newly enrolling college students. He claimed that if only they can save $5 per week, by making coffee at home and not going to expensive coffee shops and earn 8% on their savings account, it will be worth more than $130,000 by the time they retire when they are 65 years old. This is the conventional wisdom as repeated by the media.

2. The pundits on CNBC will keep repeating as this is the truth. But the truth is according to the government's own flawed metrics, the inflation is close to 5.3%. I don't know any bank that is paying 8% on a savings account. In the 90s people were making 8 to 10% in their savings account. Now-a-days Citibank paying 0.5% annual interest is called a "high-yield savings account". If you put aside $100k in this account gives you at best $500, which is taxed by the government at 30 to 40%. It also does not mention that the Federal reserve doubled their money supply in just one year as you see on the blue line below, stealing dollar's purchase power.

3. As an alternative to the traditional savings account, Rose City funds is offering Crypto Savings Note (CSN). This is a substitute for a savings account. It pays an annual interest of 18% per year or 20% as an internal rate of return. This is backed by a promissory note from the management company of Rose city funds. A saver will receive all the interest payments and principal back in the form of post-dated checks, all of them upfront. This is designed to provide peace of mind to the saver and provide steady monthly income with zero volatility. This is definitely a better choice than the Citi bank's "high-yield account".

4. This week Coingecko has listed the AKLIMA token. Last week KlimaDAO raised $17.47 million by issuing 113,800 tokens. We currently own 10,561 tokens in fund 1, which is 9.28% of the circulating supply. Currently zapper is not showing this token in our portfolio. Based on the current market price of $750, these tokens are worth around $8 million. We have not finished accumulating our stake yet.

5. KlimaDAO acts like a blackhole to absorb carbon offsets that are produced by the projects that plant trees in Amazon rainforest or launch solar or wind farms. These Tokenized Carbon Tons (TCTs) are purchased by Klimadao and locked up in the treasury. It uses these tokens to back the newly minted KLIMA tokens. This protocol is expected to launch on the Polygon network which is Ethereum's layer 2 solution. The protocol only buys these TCTs but never sells them, which will increase the price for carbon for polluting companies. This picture best describes KlimaDAO.

It is wonderful that we will not only be making money on this position, but by pushing the price of carbon offsets, we are helping with climate change. I am very inspired by this project.

Have a wonderful weekend!
